SHILPA SHASTRA
CURRICULUM COURSE

This is an on-going term course with set syllabus based on the shilpa shastras taught by Drdha Vrata Gorrick. The students learn practical skills and techniques, starting with fundamental shapes & motifs to detailed geometry-based proportions and iconography, deepening their knowledge and understanding of the traditional arts and shilpa shastra principles.

COURSE STUCTURE

Drdha Vrata learned classical arts for several years in South India from renowned iconography Masters and has established himself as one of the leading experts and teacher on Vedic iconography.
He has travelled the world exhibiting his works and conducting classes with the aim to introduce and promote the ancient artform. Drdha Vrata’s works are in various private collections around the globe and his students are also spread far and wide.

COURSE INFORMATION

  • Typical duration of a class is 60 minutes. Any additional overtime is not calculate on the fees. Please plan for outside class activities and homeworks.

    Students are expected to attend all sessions on time. Any absence or late attendance should be informed in advance.

    Note: We try to maintain punctuality for best use of class time and encourage students to log in no later than 5 minutes of starting time.

  • The classes are 1 day a week. Please get in touch with us to know about the class days, timings and batch availability.

    The weekly Program is sectioned into "Terms" as listed below:

    Winter Term : Jan 1 – March 31
    Spring Term : April 1 – June 30 Summer Term : July 1 – September 30
    Fall Term : October 1 - December 31

    Each Term is designed for 12 classes.

    Students can enroll for any number of terms at a time and cannot withdraw in middle of the term.

    The batch (day and time-slot) cannot be changed once enrolled in a term. Changes from subsequent term depends on availability.

  • All classes are currently VIRTUAL sessions via provided Zoom meeting link.

  • Winter Term - min 12 classes (1 hr each) - $324
    Spring Term - min 12 classes (1 hr each) - $324
    Fall Term - min12 classes (1 hr each) - $324
    Holiday Term - min 10 classes (1 hr each) - $324

    The fees can be paid via Wise, Venmo or any other suggested mode of payment.

    The fee for a term is due 15 days before beginning of the term to confirm a spot. A penalty of $15 per week is charged in the event of failure to pay the fee by the 10th of the first month of new term.

    Once enrolled in a term, the fees would not be refunded or carried forward under any circumstances.

    A registration fee of USD 30 is levy on every new sign-up and an Annual Fee of USD 20 is due on Jan 1st every year

    Fee is non-refundable and does not include supplies.

  • Our holiday list is based on important Indian Festivals and major US holidays. The classes would be made up on a different day of the week incase it is cancelled owing to a holiday

    Any planned holidays or breaks should be informed well in advanced. In case a short break, recordings can be requested to catch up to the missed material. Valid reasons for class absence will only be considered

  • Our missed class policy is specifically for the benefit of all the students as it’s not valuable to overload a class with a number that could be hard to handle. Individual attention is our priority. Thus, makeup classes are NOT guaranteed and can be availed under the following circumstances:

    If absence from a class has been communicated at least 24 hours in advance - a NO SHOW does NOT qualify for makeup class

    If there are no extra classes happening in the specific term over and above 12 each in Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter

    only if there is an availability in a different batch

    Make-up class once scheduled CANNOT be rescheduled under any circumstance

    Make-up class needs to be finished in same term - It CANNOT be carried forward

    No more than 3 make-up classes in a term would be provided

    No refund or balance will be carried forward to the next term

    Fee will NOT be pro-rated for any missed class

  • We reserve the right to refuse admission to any participant who poses a disciplinary problem or disrupts class

    Incase of minors, parents (or an allocated responsible adult) must be contactable at all times during class

    We do take photographs occasionally of the class and artworks of students. These maybe used for online showcases, for our website or other advertising and publicity purposes. We reserve the right to publish any photographs of children working in class and/or artwork created by them - If you do not wish to be photographed, please inform us before the commencement of your child’s first class
