Ahobhilam, in Andhra Pradesh, is considered to be the location of the demon Hiranyakashipu’s palace. The harsh landscape reflects ruins of what would have been the demon’s palace. The pillar from which Lord Narasimha appeared is marked by its base stone on the edge of a narrow cliff, accessed by a treacherous vertical climb up the hill.
Lord Narasimha manifest here in 9 different forms known as Nava Narasimhas.
This Ahobhilam Darshan drawing is an original composition depicting the Nava Narasimha along with Chenchu Laksmi Narasimha (tribal Laksmi Narasimha), the Vaisnava Acharyas associated with Ahobhilam and its surroundings.
